Roger Garcia i Noguera, Director of MedWaves, the UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), (hereinafter MedWaves), is an economist specialising in circular economy policies, environmental governance, and international cooperation. He has extensive experience in promoting the green transition and sustainable consumption and production models across the Mediterranean region.
With over 15 years of experience in the field, including 13 as Deputy Director of MedWaves, he now serves as Director leading strategic initiatives to accelerate sustainable transformation across the region in partnership with public, private, and multilateral stakeholders.
His professional background also includes work on regional policies and Euro-Mediterranean agendas related to circular economy, waste management, and sustainable development. As a technical expert at the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC), he contributed to the work of the International Unit.
