Circle the Med The Mediterranean Forum 8th edition

He was born in Rethymno in 1973. He is the son of educators Arkadios and Katerina Spanoudakis. He is married and the father of two children.
He is a graduate of the Department of European Studies and International Relations at Panteion University and holds a postgraduate degree in "Political Analysis and Political Theory" from the Department of Political Science at the University of Crete. Additionally, under the European ERASMUS program, he was awarded a scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for the European Studies Department of the German University of Aachen.
In 2003, he worked at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete, while from 2004 to 2006 he served as a special advisor to the General Secretary of the Region of Crete on European policy issues. During his tenure in the Region of Crete, he participated in international conferences on regional development as a member of the General Assembly of the European Commission of the Islands (CRPM). Since 2006, he has been working at the Ministry of the Interior.
In 2010, he was elected for the first time as a Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Rethymno. In 2013, he was appointed by the Minister of Health as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the General Hospital of Rethymno. In 2014, he was re-elected Municipal Councilor and was appointed Deputy Mayor of Finance, a position he held until 2023. In 2024, he was appointed President of the Municipal Committee as well as Deputy Mayor for the Environment, positions he continues to hold to this day.
