A leading researcher, lecturer and consultant in the field of Economics of Sustainable Development, with more than 20 years of experience. Dr. Shalaby has experience in public and private policy advising on sustainable development; on the local, regional and international levels. His core motivation is embedding “Sustainable Development philosophy and culture in the corporate context”, in particular strategy and policy planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Dr. Ehab Shalaby is a certified quality education manager and a GRI certified trainer with more than 20 years of experience as a full-time lecturer among many universities. His experience spans from public consultation including preparation of Egypt’s INDCs report submitted to the UNDCCC secretariat (Oct 2015), Egypt Sustainable Development Strategy 2030 “Energy Pillar”, Egypt’s Voluntary National Review (VNR) on SDGs submitted to the HLPF in July 2016, developing Egypt’s national strategic review on SDG1 and SDG2 for the World Food Program, developing Egypt Biennial Updated Report (BUR) on SDG13 to the UNFCCC, member of the audit committee of Egypt’s VNR 2018, member of the team of experts working on revisiting Egypt’s vision 2030.

Private consultations include developing, reviewing, auditing and assuring sustainability strategies and reporting, carbon footprint mitigation strategies and reporting, for banking, Telecom, FMCG, ICT, Oil & Gas sector. He also provides capacity building and education for sustainable development strategies implementation. In addition, Dr. Shalaby has peered working papers in the field of sustainable development strategies and policies and ecosystems on the environmental, social and economic pillars.

Dr. Ehab Shalaby is also the founder and Chairman of DCarbon Egypt, the only Global Reporting Initiative certified training partner in Egypt and a member of the GRI Gold Community. Currently, Dr. Shalaby is working on several projects and consultations including participating in developing Egypt’s first “Carbon Market” study, and Egypt’s Low Emission Carbon Strategy. Among others, in 2019 Dr. Shalaby became a member of the board of trustees of Vodafone Foundation.
