Amr Zakaria Mohamed Hammouda is Professor of Marine Geology and Geophysics at the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), Department of Marine Environment, Mediterranean Branch in Alexandria, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. in Geophysics from Alexandria University. He was the head of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), a member of the Strategic Planning and Technical Support Center at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and an advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

He is also a member of several committees; Including the special committee concerned with conducting an environmental study for the eastern port and the citadel in Alexandria, and the study of sedimentation methods in the eastern port, the German-Egyptian Committee for Renewable Energy and Environmental Protection, and the Scientific Committee for Oceanic Research (SCOR).

He is a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research (MCEER). He worked on various projects, including a geoelectrical study of groundwater using different electrical means in the north of Wadi al-Natrun, and a study on new tectonics in the Red Sea region and Qena - Safaga. attended numerous workshops and conferences, such as the Workshop on Marine Elements Dynamics in the Egyptian Coast, organized by Coastal Carolina University, the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), the Coastal Research Institute, and a conference on sustainable development in South Sinai organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. His publications include an article entitled “Geological Effects of Modern Sonography of the Seabed in the Eastern Harbor in Alexandria” published in the Egyptian Journal of Water Research.
