Towards COP29 – From the Mediterranean to the Global Stage: Building Climate Solidarity for a Sustainable Future

As the world prepares for COP29, the Mediterranean region is emerging as a key hub for uniting countries in the fight against climate change. Our pre-COP29 Dialogue will delve into the critical need for regional cooperation between the Mediterranean and the Global South, exploring how these partnerships can help push the boundaries of climate ambition. We will focus on essential topics such as climate financetechnology transfer, and capacity-building, recognizing that these elements are vital to ensuring that all nations, particularly those are equipped to fully participate in the global green transition.

The Dialoguee, in cooperation with Symi Symposium, will also highlight the importance of transparent and inclusive climate action, ensuring that countries are not only able to commit to ambitious climate targets but are also supported in achieving them. As we gather just before COP29, the outcomes of this discussion will provide critical perspectives on how to ensure the green transition is just and accessible to all, particularly in regions like the Global South that are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
