He was born in Rome in 1976. He graduated in Business Management at Sapienza University – Rome 2004 - with a thesis on Integrated Management Systems in Communication Sector.

As part of his PhD in “Economics, finance and business management” achieved at Sapienza University - Rome 2009 - he has investigated the environmental and energy issues in relation to the territories, business and innovation technology.

He taught, as a Contract Professor, in the course "Innovation and organization of companies" at Sapienza University - Rome 2013 - 2014.

Today Mr. Gaetano Zarlenga is the Director of CUEIM, University Consortium for Industrial and Managerial Economics, where he has been contributing for more than 15 years in the development of innovative projects focused on environment and energy, innovation and smart cities, natural and cultural heritage.

He held the position of Project Manager for national and international projects concerning technological innovation in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development.
