Dr. Simos Malamis is a Civil and Environmental Engineer and graduate from Imperial College and the University of Oxford. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He has more than 90 publications in international peer
reviewed scientific journals and more than 150 presentations in International Conferences. Dr. Malamis is the coordinator of the Horizon2020 project o HYDROUSA and the Horizon Europe project of CARDIMED and the principal investigator in several other European, Mediterranean, and National projects.
His research focus is on advanced technologies for wastewater treatment and resource recovery, water reuse, biological nutrient removal, and nature-based solutions for water purification. He is a member of the management committee of the IWA specialist group on small water and wastewater systems. Dr. Malamis has significant teaching experience in several subjects including water and wastewater engineering, hydraulics and environmental technology.
