Mircea joined BSTDB in 2003 and since then is leading the environmental, climate and social sustainability aspects of the Bank’s business at both strategic and operational level.    

His main expertise is in assessing and managing environmental, social and climate risks and impacts associated with financing projects in manufacturing, telecommunication, infrastructure, transportation, energy, extractive industries, and the applied best practices and best available techniques for prevention and mitigation.

Mircea served previously at UNDP, oil and gas sector, and managed EU assistance projects to the Ministry of Environment of Moldova.

He holds Master’s degrees in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the Central European University and Manchester University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Biology, Hydrobiology and Chemistry from the State University of Moldova.
