Dr. Farouh is a professor of Environment and sustainable urban development at Egypt’s Housing and Building National Research Center.

In addition she is the national project manager of grid-connected small-scale solar systems project in Egypt which is implemented by the Industrial modernization Center and the United Nation Development Program.

Dr. Farouh is the former executive director of the central unit for Sustainable Cities and Renewable Energy at the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). Dr. Farouh has more than 22 years of experience in smart sustainable buildings and cities. She is a member of the Egyptian Council for Green Buildings and Sustainable cities.
