Maria Makri is a Chemical Engineer and holds a phD in Chemical Engineering from Dept. of Chemical Engineering in the University of Patras. Her phD is on Electrochemical Promotion in Heterogeneous Catalysis and Surface Science monitoring of catalysts.

Currently, she holds a position in Region of Western Greece. She is head of Dept. of Technical Applications in Directorate of Industry, Energy and Natural Resources of Region of Western Greece.

She is involved in Region’s actions in the following sectors: energy efficiency in buildings, electromobility, smart cities, climate change and elaboration of the Regional Adaption Plan monitoring air pollution. Also she is active member in European projects (Interreg, Life) that Region of Western Greece participates.
