Melina Pyrgou is the managing director of Pyrgou Vakis Law firm in Nicosia Cyprus. Melina has been acting for more than 10 years as country expert for projects of the European Commission in relation to transposition and implementation of EU legislation in particular in the field of the environment. She was listed in “Legal 500” EMEA 2020 in the areas of Commercial, Corporate and M&A. She is chairman of the Environmental, Energy and Investment Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association. She is also Board member of the Legal Council and Board member of the Health Insurance Organisation. She has participated in various panel discussions, conferences and invited to take part of ministerial committee for reform of the Registrar of Companies. Author of articles on legal issues and developments. Invited by the University of Cyprus to present a paper on “Prosecuting Environmental Law offenders in Cyprus” in December 2016.
