Shaping a Circular Blue Economy in the Mediterranean
Strengthening regional cooperation among Mediterranean countries is key in achieving a more Circular Economy, preserving healthy marine and coastal ecosystems and boosting competitiveness in blue economy sectors. In this session, we discuss about current and future plans and initiatives shaping the Circular Economy transition in both shores of the Mediterranean.
A Circular Economy thrives on collaborations. This session examines challenges and potentialities of public-private partnerships with panellists sharing their insights and experiences to identify barriers and opportunities related to circular blue economy entrepreneurship and public investments.
This session focuses on the challenges faced by the fishing industry in Egypt: Lands are deteriorating and competition with the agriculture sector is rising. The impact of the rising costs of exploitation and the impact of climate change are also strong elements impacting the sector. Solutions at the local level will be presented.
This session explores transnational projects’ results and best practices, innovative tools and recommendations towards a common goal: a circular blue economy. Panelists will share their insights related to the need for strengthening science-business collaborations and integration of the civil society towards this goal.
